WiggleWireless Delivers Cell Phone Diaries of the Elite Triathletes to Fans Everywhere
November 15, 2005, San Diego, Ca. – WiggleWireless, an interactive mobile marketing company connecting people to the information they want via mobile messaging, delivered the training adventures of elite athletes as they traveled the road to Kona.
Triathlete enthusiasts everywhere were inspired by the hard core training and dedication of these athletes as they prepare for the most difficult one-day sporting event in the world - the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
Four of the top elite athletes were selected to journal their adventures as they traveled the Road to Kona. The athletes used WiggleWireless' mobile messaging service to share training tips, insider secrets, gossip and personal stories with fans, spectators and triathlon participants alike - anyone who signed up to receive the service.
The four athletes included:
Norman Stadler, the King of Kona 2004 and the 2005 Ironman German champion. What is his secret source of speed? Is it his diet? His training regimen? Fans find can find out by reading his diary sent directly to their mobile phones.
Kate Major or Major Kate, as she is affectionately known, made the hard decision not to race in the Ironman Lake Placid in order to assure that a stress fracture suffered after her win at Ironman Arizona was in her rearview mirror. Find out more about this spunky Aussie as she trains for and races in the world championship.
Peter Reid's trademark is his resiliency - the lower he gets the higher he rises. No one in the history of the sport has been able to rebound from the dark places the way Peter has, and he is on the rebound again after contracting a nasty virus from over-training this spring. Peter hunkered down at Kona boot camp and is eager to share his story.
Desiree Flicker's training motto is: "If it's hurting me, it's killing them!" She is an up-and-coming pro triathlete who has more guts than any female triathlete who competed in Kona. Her road to Kona has been equally full of silver and potholes. With second places in Ralph's Half Ironman, Ironman Arizona and the Eagleman half marathon, this lady has shown her stick-to-it attitude that makes her a champion.
